The Journey:
Deta Play started out with 4 solid graduates with a passion to build video games. Each with their multi-professions, Deta Play officially became a start-up in 2016. Due to financial struggles Deta Play LLC dissolved into a sole proprietorship in 2018.
As each went their own separate ways, one was determined to meet the finish line. Having spent an additional 4 years of hardships, a single mobile game was developed and has yet to meet the market. As the first product creeps closer to an accessible state, Deta Play's future is on the horizon.

What does " Deta Play" mean?
The phrase "Deta Play" was created by two twin brothers during their childhood. The memory begins playing a DOS video game in 1995 called, Michael Jordan in Flight. In certain instances when scoring a basket, a recorded voice over of Michael would sound off "Better Play" or "That a play". Till this very day, the two brothers are still unsure what the actual audio had spoken. Unsure of the true sound, the brothers presumed it as "Deta Play!".
Throughout life the definition of Deta Play was created. Deta Play means to get into a bad situation and turn it into your favor.
For example, running into a room filled with the enemy team. Although it would have been your ultimate doom, you double backed and dropped C4 while exiting the room. Having dodged a bullet storm that would have killed you, you detonated the C4 on 7 opposing enemies that followed - DETA PLAY!

Why the Suspended Character in the company name?
The suspended character does not have any negative connotations as other companies do. This visual roots back to a time period of the two twin brothers when magic or street magic was booming. Magicians during this period were catching way too much fame and assumed to have supernatural power. Several groups of individuals had taken upon the efforts to debunk magic tricks and expose their realities.
One group - particularly in Mexico - had paraded on unpaved roads exclaiming magic was not supernatural. One shouted, " Any body can do this!" as he suspended himself on a pole with fish hooks dug into his flesh.

What is Deta Play currently working on?
A single mobile game is currently in solo development called Death Denied. It is a rail shooter for mobile devices, supporting an unlimited number of touch inputs that has been restricted to three. For more information on Death Denied visit its website and follow the Dev Blog!
